Our role
When you interact with a venue through TapChat, the venue is the data controller and TapChat acts as a data processor. This means the venue decides what data is collected and why. We process it on their behalf to deliver the service.
What data we collect
When you interact with a venue through TapChat, we may process the following information:
Your name
Your phone number
Your messages with the venue
Your booking requests and preferences
Your feedback and review responses
Any other information you share during the conversation
We do not collect financial or payment information.
Why we collect it
We process your data to:
Respond to your enquiries and booking requests on behalf of the venue
Send you messages the venue has asked us to deliver, such as event invitations, booking confirmations, or review requests
Help the venue improve its guest experience
Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted third-party technology providers to deliver our service, including official Meta Business Partners for messaging and approved platforms for conversation management, automation, and booking integration. We only share data with these providers as necessary to deliver the service, and each operates under their own privacy policy and data protection obligations.
Lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of the venue's legitimate interest in communicating with its guests and managing bookings. Where you have opted in to receive messages from a venue, we rely on your consent to send future marketing communications.
How long we keep your data
We retain your data for as long as the venue requires it to deliver its guest engagement activities. If you ask to be removed, we will delete your data within 30 days.
